Wonnangatta valley, alpine Victoria, Australia. The Wonnangatta Valley is surrounded by steep ranges. The historic ruins of the Wonnangatta Station are a popular 4wd destination.
The Wonnangatta murders (1917 –1918) which were never solved add mystery to this area of the Victorian High Country. Station manager James Barclay and the cook J Bamford were murdered. Barclay’s partly buried body was found on the station and Bamford’s body was later found on Howitt high plains. January 2005.
